Urban agriculture has become a means of increasing access to locally grown food and a way to re-enter the public for the many foods it has lost as a culture. Urban farms will be the first line of the food system in the immediate future. The world population will reach 10 billion by 2050. With population growth, the patron saint of human habitation has also changed. In 2008, city populations outnumbered rural populations for the first time in history. This trend will only become more spectral in the coming years; in fact, the United Nations predicts that by 2030, nearly 5 billion people will live in cities. As the population increases, take advantage of unused urban space as an important source of food information, especially when it comes to fresh fruits and vegetables. It's about strengthening local communities around the world and enabling them to grow their own nutritious food with clean technology in regions where it is most needed.
